Re: cannon camera as webcam?
I managed to use my digital camera (Ixus V²) as webcam without video-in or stuff. In RemoteCapture you can turn on "viewfinder" so you can see the stream from the camera. The only problem is that it turns itself off after 120 secs or so, but then you just have to press that button again.
Then download Camtasia Studio (from Techsmith), select an area on your screen, so the image from the camera. The program "fakes" that the captured video is a webcam, so you can select it in MSN or other progs like NetMeeting and voila, you've got yourself a webcam :p
You just have to take care RemoteCapture is always on top of other programs, otherwise you will just capture your desktop. I know this isn't an easy way, but it works perfect. Except your battery is low after 40 minutes :D
I see you people are nagging that we just need to buy a webcam, but I almost never need a webcam, so I don't want to give 50€ (or $) just for a webcam when I have a digital camera.

Sounds like getting a regular webcam would be easier - it won't turn itself off, and you won't have as much stray software running.
