Rumor away!

How about all MKIII owners can get a coupon for what they paid in trade for the 'new' model which 'works' - ;}

I don't know anything about the marketing strategy but I would not be surprised if there was some sort of 'trade-in' due to the fact that the MKIII is still so new! not to mention the issues they had with them... I think they had too many people working on the MK IV instead of focusing on testing the MK III

Bah, no way.

Those of us burned by MKIII are just stuck.

There should be a name for that..........

You're confusing the 1Ds Mk III with the 1D Mk III

There's no indication that there's anything wrong with the AF on the 1Ds Mk III.

I heard that it has dual sensors for way better dynamic range. The first sensor picks up the low light, and the bright light filters through the first sensor and is picked up on the second sensor. The dual-digics put it all together for a true HDR image.

Wait, that was the dream I had last night. Nevermind.

it may have been your dream cause I'm pretty sure that feature was only on the prototype for the Mark V.... (don't get me started) they were also looking into using one of those fancy schmancy 50% mirrors to do the same thing. half the light goes through the mirror to be captured by sensor 1 for the low light detail, the other half of the light reflects off the mirror to a second sensor that captures the bright detail.

come to think of it. I'm not sure which design they were settling on... now I'm gonna be left in suspense!

I'm bookmarking this so when the 1d mark IV is released, I can quote you on the fuel cell thing and we can all have a jolly good chuckle.

The fact that this rumor completely leaves out VIDEO makes me wonder.

Canon had too many complaints like "if I wanted a video camera, I'd buy a video camera" so they decided to leave it off the pro series (1D and 1Ds) completely. The masses have spoken!

Great shots on your "aesthetic-mindset" site Justincase....
I do however disagree with you that the masses have spoken, on the contrary, I think the jury's still out. I'm not thrilled about video, but having it on my 1 series would be fine with me, just one more cool option.

Thank you very much. I'm actually with you on this, I was just trying to poke fun at those that were so against video in a DSLR. I wouldn't be surprised to see video on nearly every other DSLR released from here on out.
