No 1Ds replacement this year.
An insider told me they had been briefed by Canon that with strong sales of the 5D MkII, and the current model doing well, an announcement may be coming in December 09. The D3x is not worrying them due to it's higher cost over the 1Ds, and no real leap in ability.

Equip:
Canon 1Ds MkII, 30D + Grip, G11,
16-35 f2.8L II, 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L IS, 1.4x II, 580EX II, and all sorts of other stuff... ;)

Why not coupled with lots of AI features such as auto correct exposure for backlight and extremely low light or bright condition.

As for the video it'd has control of the entry level camcorder feature

And the best part is it's cheaper than it's predecessor.

If that's supposed to be the release date at the bottom it will never come out because any calendar I've ever had only has 30 days in April!

If there's a new model this year, I'll run a POTN-benefit photo contest.

Whenever it comes out they will want to have made sure it's working 110% this time. But with the credit crunch & all will there be anyone left who can afford it:lol:

I didn't read through all the pages of this thread, but my bet is that the 1DsIV will have full manual video controls. I am willing to bet my service industry paycheck on it! The 5D2 will be one-upped in the video dept and I am sure 1080/30P with manual exposure controls will be it.

I also think that the 1 Series will have full manual control. Knowing how hierarchical Canon is with their cameras, I would think they will give the pro level the manual controls and maybe the 1Ds with 60fps HD.

Definitely, do you mean 60i though? I assume it will be capable of 24p (progressive), 30p and 60i (interlaced) HD.

Whatever that is. I'm not up to speed in terms of HDTV.
