Wedding Pictures

Here's a couple I took at a wedding last summer. The bride was very happy when I presented her a DVD with close to 900 photos on it. So what do you folks think?

Heck that is a lot of photos! I guess the quality was good, as these shots aren't bad. First image looks a little overdone? Did you have a polariser attached?

900 photos would make a nice desktop a day for their PC.

Nope, no polarizer, that there is a California summer sky.

900 were the photos that weren't obviously wrong (out of focus, bad exposure, etc) but not necessarily wonderful. Even so that is a record for me, but I'd dragged my laptop along so had no worries about running out of space, and it was a really long day with plenty of opportunities. The only trouble I had was his mother rearranging all the group photos as I was trying to set them up.

MAYBE a fill flash for the face in the first one

Nice captures though, the pissed bride is classic

I like the foreground kid in the second shot..doing his own 'Thing'.

Actually I also second what DocFrankenstein said about using fill flash for the face on the first picture. Her face was a bit dark. I am sure she would look better. I mean more upset!!

wow 900 is a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!... I like the fact that is not the tipical pic of the bride and groom.

Nice! Like the first one, not the typical wedding photo you'd see.
And the one with the ringbearer is really cute, I hope I can catch my son in a moment like that!

I Think the bride doesn't look very happy in the first one, and the second one is very nice.

The pout was deliberate, part of the groom would rather be fishing than getting married concept.

I like the shots here.
Especially the second, although it would be better without the bystanders in the back.

Still, I would rather cull the photos and only present the (maybe 100 or so) photos that you really consider great... after you have post processed them until you are content.

I (as the groom) might be impressed by the number 900 at first, but then I would maybe get the impression that it was not something special you did, just pressed the shutter 900 times, with some good photos and a lot of average ones.

At least that's what normally happens if I show people my photos on my PC, if I show them 'the lot' instead of 'the picks'. They get bored pretty soon my seeing more than one shot of the same motive.
I don't assume you had 900 different poses, right
But that is just my opinion. YMMV.

Very creative pictures. I love the blue in the sky (I gotta go to California). Great timing on the second. Naturally I'm drawn to see the boy but the "dip" in the background makes the picture a real classic.

That's a bit overwhelming (IMO)

OK, I should probably give more detail. I gave them 4 8x10 prints, and 30 pick of the best shots in various file sizes so they can email them to people and such. Having deleted any crud I organized the rest by subject. There where a lot of family there and I didn't want to discover they really wanted a photo of dear old auntie and I didn't include one. I figured for them an average photo of someone they really care about may look better in their eyes than in mine.

I agree that wading through that many photos would get dull fast. Hopefully their various family members didn't put them through it too often.

These are honestly some of the best wedding photos I've ever seen. Great work! I esp like the first one.
