Precisely. Some people are whining a little that the 5DmkII only has 3.9 fps. They were expecting 5 fps. To me the difference isn't vast (1.1 fps) but I am not a sports shooter.

Also, my 40D will cover the times I need 6fps. :D

If they pit the 5Dmk2 fps any higher, it would stop a few people buying the 1Ds mk3. Not interested with movie mode; 12min? (then the battery is dead with an IS lens! hahaha!) But the ISO sounds good and better AF than the original 5D a bonus.

I'll probably get the 5D2 and 50D after Christmas, sell my 5D.

The 5DII's fps is a little dissapointing. I suspect there's a little corporate politics at play here. Throttling back on the fps so that the new 5DII doesn't match or eclipse the current 1dsIII (5 fps). The Digic IV in the 50D produces just under 100mbs (15.5x6.3), the 21.1mp 5DII should (in theory) be able to produce 4.7fps. So I suspect that there's a few wait loops in the 5DII's firmware. It's great that the 5DII has upgraded the apallingly slow 3fps of the 5DI, but as usual of Canon over the last few years, they are holding back on us.

NO weather sealing, and no Pro-AF.

Looks like I've got some Canon gear to sell off, and some Nikon gear to buy.

Actually it is weather sealed, but you are right about the AF. That's a dissapointment.

I'm disappointed with the 5D Mk II - but happy that I didn't wait a year ago to buy my 5D (when I was thinking about holding out for the replacement).

Initial price - £2300 (approx $4500).

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

I'm sure you can get camcorders for less than that...............

Yes, I'll be getting mine as a US import at $2600...what is it about this country (UK)?

I was wishing for dual processors, for, you know, better Af. The huge jump in mp in nice but how useful. I'll be holding on to my 5d for a long while, and I don't think the prices on used ones will plummet.

The 5D and 5DII use a separate processor for AF. It just isn't dual DIGIC processors like the 1 series.

The only bummer for me is the AF point selection still being so tight in the center of the frame. I have focusing and recomposing.

Dual Digic 3 has the same processing through put as a single Digic 4.
Dual Digic 4 will have a though put of 155mps.

Now here's a thought, if Canon retained the 21mp MkIII sensor and used a dual Digic 4 processor, a theoretical 7.4 fps could be achieved.

just laying the groundwork for a more capable 1D in the future!

Anyone have any specs on the Digic processors? I was just discussing with my room mate about the crazy MHz the D!GiC IV must possess.
