One of the World's Unique Railway Lines !

The Pleasure Pier at Southend-on-Sea in the UK is the longest in the world at 1.34 miles, stretching out into the River Thames Estuary...

...and it has it's own railway... (technically an electric tramway..)

The rail line stops short about 1/8 mile from the end...

FWIW, the pier @ Naval Weapons Station Earle in Leonardo NJ, extends 2.2 miles into Sandy Hook Bay, just south of NYC
