I have a wedding tomorrow and need to use the Sunpak 120J for a studio setup outside.

I just got my Cybersyncs yesterday and bummer! I can't connect my Cybersync to the Sunpak 120J.

Does anyone know what cables I need?? Also is it something my local camera store would have? I'm going to Seattle downtown tomorrow so if anyone knows a place that would be great.

Thanks!

I can't find any useful info online quickly. How is it triggered? Hotshoe? Does it have a PC port/sync port?

I just found this. Sunpak 120Js hole looks similar to the Sunpak 383.

So it seems that what I need is:

But does anyone know if local camera stores or bigger camera stores in downtown will have these?

That looks like a basic 3.5mm plug to 2.5mm plug adapter. Any electronics or audio store should have them. I'd doubt that many camera shops will sell them.

The Sunpak 383 has a non-standard 2.5mm port - it needs a longer plug than the standard. I don't know where you get the from. My solution was to open up my 383 and add a 3.5mm socket.

The alternative is a PC to hotshoe adaptor.

Overnight shipping is too late already :(
Hmm I should stop by radioshack just in case...
I do have a PC to hotshoe adapter. The problem is I don't think I can use it because it will get in the way of the thing that's supporting my softbox. I should try it though..
Thanks all!

Oh I just noticed I'm using a STD-1D for the Sunpak 120J. Does that help at all?

A dedicated module for the Sunpak 120J, I mentioned it because that is where the plug is..

So one more question.. Does the Cybersync use a 3.5mm jack?

I tried to bounce my flash off the ceiling once. Left a mark on the ceiling and broke my flash.

So you need a PC to 3.5mm adaptor. That might be tough to find. Go try a camera store, then an electronics store.

if you want to hook it up to your flash's sync cable port, you're going to have to order the sunpak type cable, i'm pretty sure they aren't sold most other places.
