Carol,
Some nice shots here. It would help to number them.
Number 3 might just be that his hand is outside the Depth of Focus for a lens at f/4.0. I find the wacky horizon on number 4 to be too distracting. I don't get number 5 - the tackle is OOF and from the back, both not good. And if you're trying to get "Perez", he's way behind the play and the shot is from his back.
At this age level (and actually, at all age levels) faces rule - always try to get faces in your shots. It's the rare action capture that works without a part of one of the player's face.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Dennis. I always enjoy your posts, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
You are right, my intent was #31. Mom asked me to get shots. He plays the line and it's hard to get shots of him. I had asked in some other groups if they thought this photo was a keeper or a tosser cuz I was leaning more towards tossing. Many said to keep it. Mom ended up loving it. Moms usually only see the fact their kiddo is in the shot lol. My intention was to get him with the tackle being OOF but you are right, he is not close enough to the action to make it 'mean' anything.
I have access to the sidelines, where do you think I should be standing? Say I am trying to capture offense, where should I be standing? How about defense?
I have no idea why I went for the tilt on #4. I'll leave that out next time
Thanks again for your input!
