What setting do you use? Just got my 40D, been trying different ones and wondered what everyone else used.

My camera has the battery grip, so I have also switched the operation of the AF-ON and * buttons (C.Fn IV 2 - enable). This overcomes the problem of the grip not having an AF-ON button. Therefore, it does not matter how I hold the camera (i.e. landscape or portrait format), I can use the * button to activate the focus system. APM

I think it's great having focus and metering separate. Right now I'm using IV-1-2 although I was thinking of trying out IV-1-3 also. 7D MKII ■ 10-22 ■ 15-85 ■ 28-135 ■ Σ 50-150 ■ 70-200 f4L ■ 100-400L ■ 580EX II

It has absolutely nothing to do with sports or action. It is great for those but the point of it is to seperate the shutter from focusing.

You could on the 20D. 7D MKII ■ 10-22 ■ 15-85 ■ 28-135 ■ Σ 50-150 ■ 70-200 f4L ■ 100-400L ■ 580EX II
