Played around a little with PS on this image, nothing major just trying to make it pop a bit

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/Beanchimp/andrew02.jpg

I basically did a LAB curves adjustment, removed some noise, and ran an action on the eyes and teeth, and some sharpening

I dont know how to remove the bruise from the left eye though, I did have a try with the clone stamp and dodge & burn but to little avail

Thanks for looking

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'd say you've gone a tiny bit too far with the eyes and teeth, but I'm on my crappy laptop atm, so my judgement isn't great.

The bruising should be simple enough - just loosely select the area with quick mask, then open hue/saturation, choose Yellows then click to sample the area, then nudge the Hue slider across a little.

Thanks Damien

I forgot to check the opacity of the layers on the teeth and eyes, but its easily redone, as it only took a couple of minutes to do the total editing

Thanks for the tip on the bruising, Ill give that a try

To my eyes there seems to be an odd yellowish-green color cast that is quite noticeable in the skin tones.

One thing I have just remembered is that I have played around with colour profiles and the above picture is Adobe RBG not sRGB

Not sure if that makes any difference or not

Yes it would since anyone using IE for their browser, like me, won't show it correctly. Change it to sRGB.

Have done another edit, reduced the opacity of the teeth, and only slightly brightened the whites of the eyes

And switched back to sRGB

The eyes still seem to be overly accentuated. A little scary, actually. Just my opinion so take it for what's it worth.

I see little or no change in the green.

sonic, I'd avoid doing too much of anything with the PP, it is then that things get truly complicated.

At any rate, this last edit looks awesome. I like how the subject pops on the pic. My son just lost the same tooth, but from the top.

I think it's good. :)

No worries, im glad of the feedback, after all it will help me learn

For reference though, here is the completly un-edited image, purely resized for posting here

Be interesting to see if you still see the green, or if the eyes still seem over accentuated

Looking at the original image; the pinpoint catchlights indicate you used the onboard flash. The green color cast is being caused by the flash reflecting off the background. There are several ways to correct the color cast but the simplest would be to use a Magenta Photo Filter adjustment layer at about 15% in Photoshop (magenta is the opposite of green). Then if you still want to warm up the image you can add another Photo Filter adjustment layer; this time using the Warming filter.

Thanks Fedka

I did use the onboard flash as it was dark outside, I dont see the green cast, but I do see the green background, so maybe my eyes are being tricked slightly by too much greenery

Ill give the filters a go and see how it looks then
