Hi all, had a busy day snapping today, would just like others opinion on these 2 pictures please. (The B&W i done in camera and just tweeked levels and sharpness.) This being the UK it was raining buckets as usual, i took this in an Abbey Nearby. Anyway i would appreciate feedback please.(The wife and i have our own opinions! lol) Thanks.

#1 - probably lack of light, but it needs a bit of contrast. Maybe even some less White Balance. The castle is too close to 18% gray. :-)
#2 - Nice, very nice. You didn't happen to do one with a very long exposure did you? I think the light pouring and over exposing through the windows would have been an interesting shot.

I have left the castle untouched (paste a copy of the original onto my edits), darken the sky, and brighen the grass (curves,with the green channel a bit higher, and +20% saturation). Iddealy, this is supposed to give the impression of a ray of light below a stormy sky...

What do you think ?

A).Hey thanks for the comments. In pic number 2 i had to hand hold the camera, no chance of tripod being used, not suitable/no room. ;)

B). Thank you for spending the time adjusting the picture. Looks a lot better, really pleased with a bit more detail from the sky and the grass is much better.
Im still getting to grips with PS. I think i overdo it sometimes, so i tend to err on the side of not doing too much! :)
