Shot our local Blue Angels air show and found an old friend in the Public Affairs Office so he hooked me up for a ride in Fat Albert during the show. Due to weather it was a no go but maybe tomorrow. In the mean time I checked out the roof and flipped a few switches.

Enjoy.

I am amazed at the shape of this aircraft. Been to several USAF aircraft, and the wear and tear was incredible in most of them, even the newer inventories. This one looks like they also lick it clean every morning. Tis so?..

Judging by the "steam gauges" on the flight deck, she's probably one of the oldest in active service. but I'm sure she gets a lot of TLC...

I know the jets are some of the highest time airframes as they prefer to keep the newest ones out with the fleet.

What kind of plane is that?
I thought they only flew fighter jets.

Hi Everyone,

I don't have time to answer all of the questions but some have already provided answers. I am going back today and hope to go up. It is an honor to meet these great people who defend our country everyday. They are the nicest and most professional I have ever met.

Be back this evening.:D

Great shots, what an opportunity. Hope that you get your ride (with JATO on of course). Suggest that you hang on tight though!

WOW!!

What a great group these men and women are. They were over the top helpful. I went for the ride today and it was fantastic. I had my Sony PD-150 strapped in the cockpit and I got to sit in the jumpseat with my 10-22 on my 20D.

We pulled almost 3 G's then went over the top for some negative G's. Everything just goes to the ceiling including the navigator and engineer who did not put their seatbelts on. Here are 2 photos for now. When I upload some others I will post a link.
Enjoy.
