Despite the title, I don't think I have any pictures of a whole boat.
I mainly have pictures of what was going on around the races. 200mm was really too short to get a nice shot of the boats, so this will have to do.

Btw, the races are put on to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Association.

Oh, and here is a 180 degree panorama made up of 15 hand held shots.

No3 in the first batch is the best of the lot for me. Great capture with everyone looking the other way... seems to describe the moment without words :)

Thanks, that's my favourite also. I really like the general feeling of that picture.
It's too bad I cut off her foot though. Also, I'm not sure about the toning... I almost feel like all the colours in the background overpower the girl. I tried some desaturation and burning, but it may need more.

Pianokid, I used a 1D MK3 and 24-70L.
I've seen plenty of people take better pictures than these with an XSi, it's all a matter of the ability of the photographer.

Some great candids there. By the way drisley, did I give you permission to use my pic for your avatar??? lol

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

Yeah locky, I was gonna say the same thing lol! Only I'm so much bigger now - with better definition and tone. So it must be an old picture. Ha!!!

Great job on the panoramic by the way..

Think about NOT using the word "retarded" in a derogatory manner - it insults those who cannot defend themselves - and hurts the ones who love them. Please see: http://www.r-word.org/ (external link)

Excellent series - good light, isolation of subject with DOF and composition. You just hit them all as far as I can see. Colorful action shots. The Nikon shooter looks like he might be related to Gary Fong....

The pano is really something, especially hand held. Very nice work that does include a full boat.

As soon as I saw your shots I wondered if you were using the 1DMKIII, my next cam if the 5DII doesn't come out. Nice pics. Congrats. And yes, I also love the pano.
