Hi all!

I'm looking to find information for the comparison of the Canon 35 F1.4 to the Contax 35 F1.4 Distagon with C/Y--->EOS adapter to the Zeiss 35 F2 ZF with AIS--->EOS adapter on a full frame camera such as the 5D or 1Ds series. Links to websites or feedback from users here on the forum would be appreciated. I'm trying to decide which lens I should purchase. I'm looking for a lens with high resolution, low field distortion, low abberations, and low vignetting (in that order). I haven't found much material comparing these three lenses itogether, only by themselves. Thanks!

Good luck. Lots of folks in this forum have experience with many different types of lenses and adapters.

Might try the Alternative gear forum at FredMiranda.com ... although they're more than a little biased towards "alt" gear, they probably have some good ideas and opinions at least.

I'd say it comes down to where you need sharpness (Wide open or stopped down) and how badly you need autofocus.

I will sacrifice autofocuse for sharpness. I'm interested in sharpness wide open...meaning anything from f/2 or faster.

Personally, I've yet to see any 35mm sharper at f/1.4 than my 35L. But I haven't seen the results from the 35/1.4 distagon.
