XSi/450D Auto ISO?

Sorry for such a basic question but I've been unable to determine exactly how the auto ISO setting works on the XSi. Is it like the 40D or does it start at 100 ISO rather than 400 ISO?

I'm strongly considering a XSi and this is one of the features I'm very interested in.

Auto ISO on the XSi varies from 100 to 800. Implementation is much better than the 40D. Same goes for focus checks on the 3" LCD: better implementaion with XSi.
