Looking at both of these. they do a 60x60cm version with a speedring and also with a hotshoe adapter.

Contacted lastolite and they said they are different items, but you can fit the hotshoe adapter to the standard ezybox to make it hotshoe mountable. (the hotshoe mount will go on a light stand)

The only difference that there may be, is that the standard ezybox has two layers of diffusion whereas the hotshoe one may not (I haven't had anyone clarify)

so, two questions:

1) Anyone have the 60x60cm hotshoe version? Can you tell me if it has the 2nd layer diffusion?

2) Is a 580EXII capable of properly lighting a softbox with two layers? I'm guessing there would be a loss of light compared to one layer,

I'm tempted to get the proper one, as I can always remove the internal layer if necessary.
