I'm currently shooting with an XSi/450D. I'll soon have a couple grand to blow on camera stuff.
Here is what I'm considering:
A) 50D w/ the new EF-S 18-200mm IS (and sell the XSi body)
B) Keep the XSi, and pick up a couple decent "L" lenses.
I'm leaning towards the first option, because the 50D seems like a HUGE step up from the entry-level SLR I'm currently shooting with.
Thoughts?
Cameron, looks like most folks recommend going with glass first before upgrading the body. I've never shot on the XSi, nor the 50D (it's not out yet
). But I have shot on an XT, XTi, and a 40D. My recommendation is to go to a camera rental shop (online or local) and rent a 40D for a day or 2 and see how you like it. You can play with it in the store as much as you'd like, but you'll really never get the feel for a camera until you get to "field" test it. Hope that helps!
