Love the PP -- the glow around the moon is terrific.

I'd be curious to know whether that "glow" is due to atmospherics or flare in the lens. Does anyone have any experience with that issue?

The only time that I see that is when the atmospheric temperature aloft is approaching the dew point (as the night temperature falls, the air may become saturated). When that happens, seeing goes to pot in a hurry.

Do you have to stop these shot of the moon down quite abit to get so much detail. Would like to have a go but no telephoto :(

duplicated the layer with the moon (after adjusting the curves and colours to make it nice and blue), applied gaussian blur to the duplicate to make it a vague big blur, and set that duplicate to screen in layer styles :)

What's not to like? Great shot! (and cliche shots are cliche for a reason -- people like them and keep shooting them!)

Thanks very much. I have a moon shot of my own I'm going to try that with! (Someday I'm gonna learn, oh, maybe 10% of what Photoshop can do...)

I live in the wrong side of the world. In New York at 100% crop I get 50% of the size with the same lens.
