I've been able to find some info on this for other Canon cameras, but nothing specific for the G6.
If I want to use monolights (for instance Alien Bees), I need to (as I understand it) get a hotshoe to sync cord adapter. So far that's no problem. The worry I have is that the monolights will exceed the trigger voltage limits for the G6 and damage my camera.
Should I assume the G6 fits in with the other EOS cameras mentioned in these discussions and has a limit of 6v making the Bees safe or should I go for another $50 and use a Wein safe shoe or whatever it's called.
I'm assuming any of the above will work with the G6. I'm also assuming that this arrangement will eliminate any of the pre-flash triggering problems caused by using the in camera or EX external units as triggers. Please set me straight if I'm incorrect about this.
Thanks,
Jim

Unless they went against what they have always done - it should be 6Volts. That would be my guess - not sure why it would be different on the G6.
