In general are you keeping an UV filter(or other) on the lens when you take your pictures.
Just wanted to know!
Thanks

I keep a UV filter on all my lenses. I have scratched filters down the years, but no scratched lenses.

Better off asking the the lens equipment section rather than the macro photo sharing section of the forum.

But to answer your question, I don't use UV filters on any of my lenses. I use hoods on all lenses except my macro lens because it reduces the effective working distance.

In fact, on my regular lens, I use an UV filters but I was wondering is there is an effect, bad or good, to use a filter on my specialized macro lens.
I also use the Canon UV filters, and that may not be a so good choice.
In any case thanks for your answers.

I have never scratched either a filter (which I rarely use) or a lens. So, tell me, do you replace a filter once it's scratched?

Oh boy this question has been asked WAY too many times. There is even a sticky on it in the Lenses section.

But, FWIW, yes I have a B+W MRC F-Pro UV Haze filter on every lens I own and they never come off.
