Macro Lens questions

I have been wanting to get something other than my kit lens but since I just moved to Europe and am in a tight budget the prices are pretty high for me. I was thinking about getting the x1, x3, x5, x10 lens addition, that you screw in just like a filter onto your current. I can get these for around 30euros. Are those things any good and will they atleast help me get started in doing macros ?

Yes, the best way to get started in Macro is to get close-up lenses and/or ext. tubes. I favor the tubes. You'll be very close to the subject with your kit lens but it will give you a taste of whats ahead.

I'll echo gasrocks. Try some extension tubes.

Extension tubes are your cheapest bet.. Because they don't have any optics (glass) they won't lower image quality..

I had soem macro filters, but they didn't really do the trick. I agree with the above post OR get a reversing ring to reverse your lens which will allow you to get ultra close!
