Does this work in B&W?

Definitely works! I like the strong contrast.

Thanks - I do think a couple of parts are a little overblown though, but I liked the strong contrast of the rocks to the water too.

It has a lot going for it, including the trout there on the left. :)

Absolutely works in B/W. Maybe crop the right hand side to contain the falls. The more I look at it, having less flat water and more crest would have been perfect. Very nice indeed!

Good shot, just the right amount of blur on the water to show the power of the falls. I agree with MMD, a little crop from the right might help, but it looks good as is.

Looks good to me. In fact looks great to me. Great job making such a crisp BW conversion.

That "trout" you see, is actually a bird flying...I didn't realise the light was such that it does look like a fish falling down too...

If you've never been to Niagara/American Falls, for a size comparison, the tiny white specs on the bottom left hand rock are all birds sitting on the rock, and on the very right hand side (on the initial picture), you'll see 2 people on a set of wooden stairs watching the water rush down the rocks at the bottom.

Thanks for your C&C

The full shot showing the crest is stunning. I was at the falls in July of last year and they were as beautiful and amazing as ever.

Great B&W conversions Harm. I like these shots.

If you would not have pointed out the birds and people, I would have never found them
