Can this bag be worn comfortably on ones back instead of in front?

It is designed to work as both torso pack and sling style on the back. I only use it as torso pack, though, because I just don't like sling style.

Nice! Thanks. I might have to give this bag a try. It's more or less what I've been looking for, the price isn't a deal breaker, and they've done an excellent job with lightweight materials. IIRC this bag weighed something like 1.1 lbs which shows that low weight was a high priority. That's my kind of design!

I'm not getting it. I checked my wish list on B&H and it says 0 quantities. :(

Oh well, somewhere down the road then...maybe if not sooner. I need a ballhead first though. Decisions decisions.

Congratulations on your new bag! :D

Thanks for the tip! I'd been looking for a bag that could fit the gear this one can (a mounted 70-200 2.8L with gripped body and a couple of lenses etc.). I was hoping to do it in a lightweight package as well. The Kata T-214 looks like it will fit the bill nicely (though the "backpacks" they had listed were "heavy" in my world). Glad I ran across this thread.

Thanks for these reviews. I like my Kata 3n1-30 a lot, but when I'm not carrying my camcorder, extra flashes, ect, I want a smaller bag for my 40D, 24-70L, 70-300IS and 430EX II.

I tried out the Velocity 8 or 9 and thought it was really hard to "quick draw" from. I don't understand the single zipper that seems to go the wrong direction. It also felt flimsy and kind of cheap. And, I guess my 3n1 yellow interior spoiled me because, while I was in a dark room, I realized I hated the dark interior of the Velocity. One more rant, the shoulder strap stunk. But, it does have a cool way to mark used batteries  I would like to try out their Digital Zoom bags but they're sold out around here.

Kata's description made me believe that this bag required the camera to be stored separated from the lens and I almost passed. I like the quick draw on my 3n1 so much that Q.D. is now a priority. I'm glad I found this review. Thanks to all for the pictures too. There's a 50D owner on Amazon with similar gear to you guys who must have received the wrong bag or can't load it correctly - maybe I should point him here :)

Anyway, thanks for the review,
dan

mine didn't come with any rain cover.... :( but not like i'm going to be able to shoot anything if it rain anyway. I love this bag but my only gripe is it can't carry my hoods with my current gear. They say they are working on a new one so i hope it's abit wider maybe 4 chambers wide. For now i modified mine but it's quite big and not so compact but still manageable

Wait? SO can it fit a xxD with say a 10-22 or my 18-50 and hood and a 70-200 F2.8 and hood or not? Man, I don't want to drive a long ways to check out bags. And they may not have this one.

sure they can fit, just w/o the hoods. the 10-22 is impossible to store regardless of what bag i had. it's to freak'n wide.
I'm waiting for another attachment a lowespro sliplock 60aw just to house my grip body, w/ that im sure i can fit the hoods

I was under the impression it could go in with the hoods. Heck, the 70-200 has the tripod mount on it.

If you go back to the first page of my review of this bag, you'll see the picture of the bag with my 40D w/grip + 70-200 f/2.8 with the hood on reversed + more room for other stuff.
