OK. I thought so. But I couldn't see the hood real well I don't think is why I freaked out.

sure they can fit, just w/o the hoods. the 10-22 is impossible to store regardless of what bag i had. it's to freak'n wide.
I'm waiting for another attachment a lowespro sliplock 60aw just to house my grip body, w/ that im sure i can fit the hoods

Considering that people are carefully basing their decision whether to purchase the bag or not on what can fit inside, you really shouldn't confuse people with faulty statements like this. Not only my 70-200 f/2.8 with reversed hood fit inside the bag with the 40D w/grip attached, but my 40D with the 10-22 with the petal hood screwed straight on fits inside even more comfortably.

2 bodies is easy but 3 lens w/ fat hoods doesn't give much room. Plus i prefer to have the 17-55 mounted rather than the 70-200. I just tried the mounted 200 and manage to fit 2 hood cept for the dinner plate

I figured as much. I really need to go to my local shop. If that closes though, I'll have to drive to Orlando then. Ugh. I rely on cambags and here so much. It's hard to believe that the companies provide such crappy reviews of their own products. The idea is to sell them but I can't find out if they're worth it from their sites. I can read about all the great gadgets and what not but I want clear photos of gear in every possible way! :D

I was looking at the 3-n-1 and I have no idea what can go in there.

you got to show me how you jammed it in there, it's so tight with the 17-55

Go back to the first page where you'll see the photo of my 40D w/grip and 70-200 f/2.8 (with the tripod ring, by the way) with the reversed hood + 20D body with smaller lens all inside. Yea, it's rather tight with ALL of these, but without the extra body with a lens, I find my gear fitting rather comfortably inside. One thing that lot of folks unfamiliar with Kata line of bags is that they come rather stiff, including their zippers. It takes a bit of initial use to warm them up.

Hi!
Were you able to fit your DSLR (5D?) with Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS USM L attached, into the KATA T-212?
Regards,
DG.

Anyone use the 214 as a sling bag? Is it comfortable this way?

Thanks to you guys I just ordered this bag to use on a 7 day trip to Mexico. Will let you guys know how it works out as I intend to use this bag on long hikes around the yucatan peninsula. I like the sling design concept (as well as the actual bag design) but will see if it is a practical design for long hikes (most say no) so I'll see for myself. Travelling light and will only bring 2 lenses with me (17-55 and Sigma 10-20) I hope this is all that I need.

Great, would love to hear back from you with the account of how it worked out for hiking. Be sure to report back!

I see Kata is releasing the 216. Looks like it's the big brother of the 214.

Hmmm... I'm 5' 8" and I thought the 214 was a bit too big for my "torso," so I don't get the bigger version...

Yeah, I wanted a 2nd bag for days when I don't want to carry EVERYTHING I OWN in my 3N1-30. Now, there's a bigger torso bag - I'm already planning on putting more junk in it ;)
