I read so much about the 70 200L IS 2.8 I had to have one. So I sold my 70 200L IS f/4.0 and 85 f/1.8 to finance it. Hope I made the right move.

Then a friend bought his 2.8 IS, and I got to play with it quite a bit. Now the 2.8 IS is no longer in my my plans, and I seem to be drawn towards a 100-400, a 150-500 or a 300 f4 IS... or a 10-22 EOS R6’ / 1D X / 1D IV (and the wife has a T4i)

Sep 09, 2008 20:24 | #14 I just did the exact same thing- sold the 70-200 f4 L IS and 85mm f1.8 and bought the 70-200 f2.8 L IS. It is bigger/heavier, seems to be as sharp even wide open, and a full stop faster. I'm happy with the decision since I'm doing some weddings, portraits, and stage events, the extra speed will be necessary.
