Chinese all over the world will be celebrating the Chinese New Year next Wednesday, 9 Feb. Yesterday, I went with my wife and sister-in-law to Chinatown. The place was awashed with red and gold. Though it was in the afternoon of a working day, the place was buzzing with shoppers.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, many Chinese like to decorate their homes with auspicious plants. This is one of them, unfortunately, I do not know the name of this plant.

That's bamboo, isn't it?
Interesting shot. Like the repeating pattern.

Pretty picture. The ribbons give some nice splashes of color.

What great shapes. Looks like some sort of bamboo - but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

Appreciate the encouragement.

Here's another plant, I love the colour and shape of the fruit. Again, I don't know what plant it is.
