Try changing the JPG quality instead of the pixel size to get the picture down to around 100K. Hope that helps...

I have a program that automatically changes my wallpaper every 12 hours. It gets the pictures from two directories: the first one contains my personal archive of the Pictures of the Day (NASA), the second one contains a selection of pictures I shot in New Zealand and Ireland during the last four years. This was the choice for today:

This was a photo I took last weekend. It was my first time trying to take long exposure photos of water.
They didn't look too bad, I forgot my tripod so I think they could have been better if I had it.
