Hurricane Gustav landed in Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, September 1.

Downed trees and power lines were a common sight. Most people lost power for the first week and many more are predicted to be without power for the rest of the month.

Police, fire fighters, EMS personnel, and National Guard were everywhere you looked. People from harder hit areas were evacuated here, roads were hazardous because the traffic lights were not working or they had been destroyed by the high winds, and looters were coming out at night.

Been there and went through that with Katrina. Now you have to watch for all the price gouging tree removal and roofing crews. Plus expect your insurance rates to increase by as much as 50%. I slept with a S&W .357 magnum for 13 days without power.
