I was in Logan Canyon shoot some shots of a cow moose, and to my surprise this little Weasel showed himself for a brief moment. These guys are quicker than 'Little Birds' if you know what I mean . . .

Taken with Canon 20D and Sigma BigMa 50-500 @ 500, lol.

Great capture!

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

Lucky you! Nice shot for sure. They are very hyper and fast.

Kent County, New Brunswick, CANADA
has to be one of the world's best kept secret. It is bordered by the sea to the east and is made up of small villages, farms, forest, brooks and rivers. I have lived here all my life and
would recommend it to anyone.

Super capture - really a chance of a lifetime to catch one of these guys.

BTW in the UK these guys are Stoats but become known as Ermine when they change to white for the winter. Do they in the US/Canada? In Ireland they call Stoats weasels.

Yes our Weasels change from brown to white as the seasons differ. They are so cute . . . but hard on the chickens, lol.

I am getting better at 'weilding' that long lens and picking up on my targets. I guess my former days as a 'hunter' were good for something after all. Have you guys or others seen shots of these prior? It is better to be lucky than good.

Once had a pair of Ermin (white weasels) playing at my feet and in nearby bushes while deer hunting once. After a few hours of sitting relatively motionless, I guess they figured I wasn't there to hurt them. Spent so much time watching them I may have missed an entire herd of deer, but then maybe that's why I'd rather shoot with a camera than a gun now.

I think for (wild) animals there is always a certain element of luck, regardless of the level of skill...the more skilled, and probably more patient, just get luckier a little more often. But both definitely play a part somewhere !

Thank you everyone . . . I have a shot of him in mid-air but almost out of frame . . . grr! That I was very happy to find when I got home. I also have a few of him not there at all, lol. Much like my 'Little Bird" hunts. As noted the moose I went to find and take was fun, but the best shot(s) of the day were of this little guy.

The moose . . . I will try to get one of her up this weekend. A very pretty cow, but not much of a 'poser' nonetheless I will show her asap, lol.
