Hi folks,
This is a bit of a basic question but i'm just interested to know...
I've looked into various Manfrotto tripods and it seems that most (actaully I think all of them) of them do not appear to have a hook underneath.
Now I know that this isn't really essential to photography and there will be a strong arguement that your gear should be well balanced anyway but I would have thought one would be a very good idea, maybe to hang your bag from or even attach some type of small cord to pin it to the ground if it's looking a bit hairy. I see quite a few other manufacturers do have the hook.

Just wondered on others opinions?

I have an Enduro that has a hook and I find it very handy for two reasons:

1) Hanging my backpack off it adds mass to the tripod and dampens vibration
2) Makes the bag handy for reaching in and grabbing a lens or Rocket Blower, etc...

Plus, it keeps your bag out of the dirt... ;)

It's very easy to put one's bag (at least a shoulder-type bag) over the tripod's legs and let the bag hang between the legs.

My Manfrotto 055MF3 came with a carrying strap that connects between the bottom of the center post and the platform up top. If you want to hang something from the center post you can use that carrying strap to do it.

Mine also. A forum member here reviewed this tripod and posted a ton of pics. The 4th pic down in this thread showns the hook

The hook on the 055ProB isn't off the bottom of the center column like some tripods, rather it is located higher up where the legs join together. When using my shoulder bag I just sling the whole rig over the tripod.
