Maybe I will have better luck with this. Hoping not to discuss the politics...just looking for comments on the images thanks.

Looks like you did a great job especially considering the somewhat harsh light.

Very nice, did you make it into the bullpen? I freelance, so I dont have a 'proper' press ID and secret service was weeding as many of us out as they could. What lens were you using? Exif shows around 260-400, so 100-400L?

I got stuck on the shadowy side, so I wasn't quite as blessed with the good light as you were. Great job man!

I think the 3rd one (McCain) looks good in terms of framing... although in this sort of thing I'm guessing there isn't a lot a photograph can do to drastically improve images like these.

I've got to say they look a lot younger on tv, not saying you've done a good job of 'aging' them by the way

I think maybe the odd portrait shot (say with Palin) might have been cool...

Thanks everyone...I'm not a journalist, so I didn't have any credentials to speak of: I just got up early and waited in line so I could get up close. I took these from about 10 rows back from the podium with my 100-400. I hope to do some of an Obama rally if he returns to the area before the election.

I was thinking the same thing...but creative nonetheless. I heard that a high school kid drew it and the parents took them to the event. I think no matter what your political perspective...taking your kids to a political rally is a great way to introduce them to civics and American politics.

I hope there is another Obama rally here before the election...I'd like to take photos of both camps.
