I like them. She looks a little less feminine in the second shot but good group.

Hey, thanks guys! I think this is my first post that didn't get slammed. Looks like I am getting better at this thing. :D

Being a first actual shoot, made me really nervous about it. But the model was relaxed and we both had fun. I have not shown it to the model yet so I'm glad I'm getting positive response about the pictures.

I definitely learned a lot by ready the posts and just trying to recreate other photos.
Fun, fun stuff! :)

All in all not too shabby! So lets slam. :-)

#1. The main light was too low. The nose shadow shouldn't be straight across but rather angled down. Her butt looks big. Crop just below her elbow, and if she appears to be too crammed into the composition add some space in Photoshop at the top and the left side. A silver reflector at camera right would have lightened up those dark shadows.

# 2. Contemporary pose but I feel just a little bit too much crotch. Turning her CCW a little and bending the front leg will hide the crotch area. Lighting is flat, background is hot.

# 3. Tilting this image 35 degrees CW really helped the composition of this shot. I like the OOF background. Her face is flat lit. Stepping to camera left a couple of feet would have added some needed base to the image. The torso seldom looks good at a 90 degree angle to the camera as it makes the head look large. Love those eyes!

Nice shots. The eyes may be a little too bright for my liking though.

2 and 3 were done in natural light with a hint of flash camera left on 2 (i would guess 1\64 power) and also for 3 behind subject behind her camera left (i think 1\128 power) just for hair. Other than that it was a 2:00 PM session.

The 1st one was in a parking garage around 7:00 PM and I had someone light her up with a gold reflector about 20 feet away as the sun was nowhere in the parking area.

Are those still considered natural lighting? I brightened the eyes a bit during PP.

Thanks for the comments and the slamming Benji you're keeping me on my toes. :) Could you show me how you would have cropped number 1?
