Welcome to CDPF, shakur.

It is hard to help without the manufacturer's name and model numbers for both the camera and the lens. Try googling them and posting a web page too. Also, posting a picture taken with it can help us understand the issues.

Thank your for your kind reply, I am new in photography and there are alot of things that I dont really understand. Anyhow, the effect I am trying to create looks like the following pictures.
http://images.channeladvisor.com …Images/FISHEYEPHOTO_1.jpg (external link)
http://store1.yimg.com/I/iowacamera_1830_4656259 (external link)

I have no idea about the brand of the lense I got, but I have a picture of it
http://store1.yimg.com/I/iowacamera_1830_4575687 (external link)http://store1.yimg.com/I/iowacamera_1830_4656259 (external link)

I can I create effect like those pictures I have listed above with the lense I have? I suspect that I dont have the correct lense and the lense that I just bought are not a real "fish eye" lense. Can someone help me out here?

If you have one of the smaller dSLRs, you'll have a 1.6X crop factor. With that, it's difficult to get an fishy look. That said, many people are happy with the "Russian Fishy". Zenitar 16mm/f2.8. Good luck!

The lens you posted is labelled "Super Wide Macro". From that I'd suspect it isn't a fisheye. If it was a fisheye, you wouldn't have any question after the first picture with it. If you mount it to your camera and the picture doesn't look like your examples (even like a square cut out of them), it isn't a fisheye. The exaggerated "barrel distortion" is a characteristic of fisheyes.
