help me please.....
im new and got a canon d30.
cant seem to use do to error messege 84.
trying to format memory card...
using a 4 gb compact flash card.....do i need to send it in to be repaired?

D30 or 30D? If its a D30 it's quite old and not really worth sending in for repair.

Have you tried formatting a smaller capacity card, something less than 2 GB? The D30 uses FAT16 so 2 GB would be the upper limit of what it can address.

As PacAce said, if it's really a d30, you'll need 2gb cards, or at least format your card in your computer with fat16 and watch it magically become a 2gb card (temporarily).


I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.
