Airshow - something different

Normally when shooting at an airshow I'm trying to get in as close as possible to the action. Here's two that go against that What do you tink?

When shooting airshows, like you say many shoot only close shots but wide shots work great too. in fact some of the red arrows shots need wide angle lenses - like the love heart they create. It is a huge size in the sky that a 100-400 or even a 70-200 would struggle to capture.

I like them both. #2 has a nice silhouette-ish feel to it.

I like the wide shots.

Many thanks for all the comments. Yes I did have a lot of fun but I felt a wee bit inadequate - there was me with my lowly 400D and 75-300mm lens and the guy standing beside me with around £8000 worth of Canon gear. Would love to see his shots

You know only if the jets in the first picture were just a tad closer to the ground. I think the open space between the water and the jets is kind of distracting.. Great capture! And Timing!
