do any of you take your camera on atv's? how do you carry it with? i was thinking i could use my lowepro compudaypack but im not sure if all the shaking and vibrating will hurt it?

its a yamaha blaster if it matters.

I use my pelican case strapped on.....just make sure you strap it really good...I learned that one the hard way when mine bounced off and i drove right over it. Pelican did its job that is for sure, not a mark on my camera. The pelican then assures that it is water/dust proof.

I've carried mine many times, always on my back, usually in my Slingshot 200 or 300. Never had a problem with vibration.

However, once in a while I strapped down the slingshot with bungee cords to the rear rack of my Yammy Grizzly, and one time a big bump sent it flying off the rack, straight under my butt. Almost knocked me right off.

TXDUGGAN, a member here, has a special pack, heavily padded, that fits perfectly on the rear deck and that's where he carries his camera. Though he does ride like a girl.

Wah, wah wah.....

I don't have a "special" pack....just your "normal" ATV rear gear....

I'm on my 3rd soft pack...the Mad Dog bit the dust, so getting a Tamarack Titan Cargo:

I'll put my DSLR in a LowePro Top Loader 70 AW:

Wrap it in a contractor grade garage bag, and I'm all set.

Vibration isn't an issue unless you strap your cam down flush to the racks or body, IMHO..

Rereading the OP, the Blaster doesn't have front or rear racks, so the backpack most likely will have to do, and should be fine.

Only thing I would make sure of is using the foam dividers separating lenses/bodies....

dont have one yet but was thinking of getting one to either hold a camera or extra gas. 2.4gal doesnt get you very far on a race tuned quad lol may have to buy the oversized fuel tank and just carry my back pack so i dont have to add the rack.

right now i only have the lowepro compudaypack but wondering if maybe one of the slingshot bags or one of the backpacks with sternum straps would be better considering ill be flying most of the time. i'd just drive slower when i take the camera gear with but the quads a race tuned 2 stroke so i'd foul alot of plugs putting around. next quad i buy will be a 4 stroke lol
