I was looking on ebay and found a bunch, from the canon TC80N3 (~$150) down to the Jueying and YongNuo items out of china for ~$5.

Does anybody have any advice on the the performance of the various 10D remotes? i really need one, but would like to know who here has experience with the lower-priced remotes.

thanks!

I bought one of the $5 "Jianisi" remotes and I have no complaints! It's actually pretty well built and has never given me trouble.

Is this the IR remote? It won't work with the 10D, as the rebel line is the only one that does IR control. Or is this a wired remote?

no, this one is a wired remote. there is a wireless one i'm seeing on ebay as well, that goes for ~$50. if i want to be in the picture, i'll just use the timer. :)

That's what I thought also. The wireless remote was the only thing that I missed that my 350D had and my 10D, 30D and 40D cameras did not have. Until this remote came along for $22.99:
