I just wanted to share my tremendous success in printing my first large A1 super print at my local photo outlet. The size of the printed image was 36"x24" to be exact.
You can see the image below. (note the papermate kilometrico medium point blue pen on the bottom edge which measures about 5" to put things into perspective).
The photo i took of this poster was a rush job so pay no attention to the quality of this pic. All i can say is that when i look at this poster (any part) but especially the larger portrait to the left above the her name... the quality and detail (as indicated by crispness of hair) is outstanding !!!To the untrained eye at close level at about 15cm... no pixelisation is visible. The blending of colours and colour reproduction is fantastic !!!
I have to say that i am overally impressed with the turn out of the quality of this print and my G6 camera, not thinking that i would retain this quality going anything over 8x10. Boy was i wrong..
This print out is a gift for family friends and their daughter Kiara... hope they like..
In case your wondering... all i did for this was the following
All 4 photos were shot in raw.
All photos were outputted at 1000dpi via canon raw converter to 16bit tiff files.
Converted the tiff files in photoshop to 8bit, left the original larger portrature as the background, reduced the 3 other images to about 900x______ at 300dpi and imported them into the larger canvas, peformed all the fancy borders and glow effect and then enlarged the overall canvas and image to 9000x 6700 @ 300dpi, saved as a tiff (350 whopping megs) saved to cd and printed out at local photo outlet...
I am one happy G6 !!! owner... will be doing this definetely more !!!!
