I don't know if you can tell or not, but in the strip, I'm holding a Big Gulp cup. I tried to write, "Big Gulp" on the side of the cup, but it didn't really work too well. :o

Yes you can. You have to "register" the C1, C2, C3 etc. When you do that, it remembers all the parameters that you've set. So if you set C1 to be Tv, ISO 400, High Speed drive, etc., it will be that whenever you turn to C1. It's pretty handy stuff. The tricky part is remembering which C does what. :o

Thanks, Deb. :D

CAT! HI! <<< I learned that from Becky.

Thanks Dan. Would you mind a quick tutorial on how to do it?

Uh.... OK. I'll have to play with the 40D to remember how. I've been on a crash course with the other camera for about two weeks.... :o Gimme a few minutes....

OK, here we go:

1. Change your avatar back.

2. Set up what you want. For example, go to Tv, set your ISO at 400, shutter speed to 1/160, high speed drive, HTP, whatever. When you get all that set to where you want,

3. Press Menu.

4. Go to the third yellow wrench.

5. The top selection is "Camera user setting" hit "Set"

6. You might want to go to Clear Settings just to make sure you're starting from scratch.

7. Highlight "Register" and hit "Set"

8. Select which "C" you want these settings to be under. Highlight that "C" and hit "Set".

9. Highlight "OK" and hit "Set"

Bingo.

Do that for each set up that you want.

a. They will always be at that setting. If you find yourself having to tweak the settings once you get to the Custom setting, reset it over again. The whole purpose is to make this FAST.

b. You have three custom settings, so try to use them all with the parameters that you use the most. During the birding season, I have C1 as the AI Servo, High Speed drive, Av settings and C2 as the more Manual set for static bird shots.

Does this make sense?
