whewww got all caught up and lost my MQ!!! so from what I remember, which isn't much.....

Great Photos all that posted them!

Permie, loved the cats sleeping in a stack

Deb, missmini is just tooo darn cute!

Becky, your sports shots where great!

Jen, looks like you and your boys had great fun yesterday :D

Permie, I'm suprised your daughters doc didn't leave some kind of instructions on what to do while he was gone. Like, should she wait until certain day, or should they do a c-section.... how long past her due date is she? With me they refused to wait longer then 2 weeks. The 2 weeks pastdue came around and they said time to get that lil guy outta there!!! Anyway, hope something happens soon.:)

Puddle, great fall colors in those shots! I was going to get some this weekend and all the places that had really good colors going also had tons of rain falling!!

Well, I did take a few pics in between the rain storms. I'll post a few up as soon as I can. I swear I gotta get an air mattress. This old bod cannot sleep on the cold hard ground (or back of my durango ;)) anymore without waking up all sore and krinks in my neck and back.:( Sure am looking forward to my nice soft warm bed tonight!! Nearly froze my woohooos off! There was snow just above the park this morning.

I couldn't imagine going up Walter's Wiggles  My knees hurt just looking at that shot.

It doesn't look too bad to me. Certainly not as bad as the infamous 99 switchbacks on the way up Mount Whitney.

Night Jim.

Lisa, Evan had the chance to get the Indiana Jones Lego game, but he passed on it, decided to spend his birthday money on actual Legos.

Jen, I know it....Evan always partially tolerates me taking pictures....he rarely looks at the camera.

Tevin saved up for months to get the Indiana Jones one, and when he finally had enough, he changed his mind and got the BatMan one.

I can understand the keeping things straight, but on composing shots...does it help place the subject for different crops like for 5x7, 8x10, 20x30 and such?

nope

Permagrin wrote in post #6444345 (external link)
I'm not sure about the new ones but mine is marked in thirds both horizontally and vertically so you can compose using the rule of 3rds much easier.

that.

That would be a helpful screen.

Have a shot of that or know of one floating around out there?

EDIT: Nevermind, found one....I don't know if that one would be worse by looking at it since the grade does not appear to be as steep and each leg is longer in length.

I almost bought the batman one. Is it fun?

I know I'm a doof but I don't want my grandchild coming here to play games and not have fun kid games...(not those overly aggressive death ones) I like the idea of the lego guy being broken (but not dead) when he loses.

The ones on Whitney are a lot steeper! The entire hike from trailhead to the summit of Mount Whitney is about 6,500' in elevation gain. Most people do it as a two or three day hike. I've done it twice, both times as a dayhike. Makes for a very long day!

Evan is already hinting that he wants that one next. I think it has to do with Lego Batman being the toy right now with Kids Meals at McD's.

Have you played through the Star Wars one yet? There is a scene where one of the Lego characters gets his head chopped off by a Sith. When it hits the floor, it makes that Lego shattering noise.

He's only had it for a few days now, but he loves it so far. I like watching him play these.

Really? The length of the trails must be deceiving in that shot I saw. It looked like a thin snail trail from where the shot was taken higher up from the switchbacks .

I don't think the pictures do it justice. I've never seen the Mt. Whitney ones (though I can imagine that much of an elevation hike, WOW)

If you look at the one of WW that I posted, you can see people on the bottom of the trail to give you a scale idea. But the picture does not even come close to reality.
