I can see at least 2 as well. Though it's the one on the left that is really noticeable.

Also, at the very top center of the picture (near the lake surrounded by snow) is a very large campground. There were probably 30 or 40 people there and a couple dozen tents. You can't see any of that in the picture because the difference in elevation makes it impossible to make them out from that far away.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

that's like how it was with us...except we didn't get into photography again until our kids had moved.

Well, my son is moved out, but we all still go camping together. :D

Hi s DS games were stolen Lisa, 6 of them!! It was a rough day, he didn't seem to care much but I was heated!!

Eli is a total poser, all the time. The camera comes out and he's cheesing.

My kids act like they hate it, but the minute we get home my daughter is asking if I have the pics loaded up yet. she wants to see them!

thomascanty wrote in post #6444465 (external link)
It's hard to get a good shot of them that shows how steep it really is because the terrain all looks the same. You can't really see the depth. I just loaded up my Topo software and set a couple waypoints to see the total elevation gain. At the bottom of the switchbacks the elevation is approximately 11,950'. At the top it's about 13,450'. That's even steeper than I thought...

Here are a couple shots of the switchbacks from my hikes. They show them from near the top, looking back down.
QUOTED IMAGE

You could NOT pay me enough money to hike that! blahhhhh I get dizzy just lookin at the pics!

That's not even the bad part. About a mile from the summit, the trail goes past "the windows". That's three or four spaces between the needles where there's a sheer drop-off right next to the trail. Miss your step and you'll fall about 2,000' with pretty much nothing to break your fall until you hit the ground below.

evening folks, almost too tired to type. I was on my feet all day, but wanted to say that I LOVE my rapid strap!!! I had my regular neck strap on and my camera started feeling to heavy, so I changed over and it was really great to just let it go when I had too and to take the weight off my neck.

I am after one of those for Christmas :)
