Fantastic deer capture, Zane! :D

I am hoping for some venison and/or elk for my freezer this year :) I haven't made my special chili in some time...

Cool, Jen. Looks like a fun day :D

It was a great day!!! And here it is Monday... sigh... I'm ready for the weekend already!!!

I can't wear a strap on my neck for very long at all. Usually I clip the short ends of the POTN strap together, go down through the loop and twist it around my hand. The balance is great and I barely feel any weight on my hand.

The R-Strap, however sounds like a good thing to put on my Christmas list.

Nice full day, there Jenn. Did they sleep well Saturday night?

You know, days like that are going to stick with them and be the subject of conversations into their adulthood.

I usually carry mine in my hand with the strap wrapped around my wrist.... but by the end of a day of shooting, I usually end up with a really sore elbow from it!!! I just got a smug mug strap for free it is WAY better than the original canon strap I had so I may actually put my camera around my neck more often now!

I'm still terribly busy. But I thought you might still need an Africa shot once in a while ;-)a

I am alive just laying low I guess, thanks for asking. Nice shots everyone. Dan I loved the fall leaf rant. D the Africa shots are always nice.

I have a lot of race pictures from the weekend as well as some nice horse shots from the barn but who knows when I will get them up.

A shot that shows the benefits of IS 200mm f/2.8 1/8 second 1600ISO hand held out the truck window while it was idling.

QUOTED IMAGE

HI ZANE!!!! Have missed ya! Will have to look at the picture when I get home... seems that our computer guy has blocked some sites.... and photobucket is one of them....

Not any more....there is a new sheriff in town...and he is on a mission to tame 'Dega. I'm sure you can still get a few shots...but when they started arresting lots of people for lewd conduct, things have quieted down a bit. Same with throwing crap on the track....they started cuffing people and dragging them off...anyone arrested on speedway property now gets a lifetime ban according to all reports. That said....I wish I had gone...since the right guy finally won!

Did not know that. I have not lost anything at a NASCAR race.

Yes we do, especially when they are as beautiful as you have been giving us.

You obviously remembered to turn off the timer from the shot before.;)

And we need horse fixes too.:D

My MIL called last night and said she has a friend with 200 acres that need their deer population thinned. I may look into that and stock the freezer this year.

Cull them before you end up with CWD like we have here.

a nice shot, considering you're in a truck, and not much noise at all with 1600 ISO

HELP!

I am helping friend pick out a new p&s camera, and after going back and forth over the different kinds, (and my pushing her in the direction of a G10, lol) she is looking at the Canon A2000.

I looked up the specs on it, it's pretty new... and I told her that not having a viewfinder would be a problem for me, as it's hard to see the LCD in all situations.

She said:
My current camera - it has a view finder and an LCD screen. I never use the view finder BECAUSE I have found that when I am looking at the LCD screen, depending on how and what angle I am holding my camera, the picture on the LCD screen looks either lighter than I want or darker than what I want it. I have found that this is actually how the picture is taken. So I tend to be moving the camera all around to find an angle that makes the picture I want. This is why I never use the view finder anymore.

How do I respond to that?
