HELP!

I am helping friend pick out a new p&s camera, and after going back and forth over the different kinds, (and my pushing her in the direction of a G10, lol) she is looking at the Canon A2000.

I looked up the specs on it, it's pretty new... and I told her that not having a viewfinder would be a problem for me, as it's hard to see the LCD in all situations.

She said:
My current camera - it has a view finder and an LCD screen. I never use the view finder BECAUSE I have found that when I am looking at the LCD screen, depending on how and what angle I am holding my camera, the picture on the LCD screen looks either lighter than I want or darker than what I want it. I have found that this is actually how the picture is taken. So I tend to be moving the camera all around to find an angle that makes the picture I want. This is why I never use the view finder anymore.

How do I respond to that?

Short of a full photography course, you don't. And if she doesn't want the course . . .

Hmmmm... I'm not sure I want to slow down just yet. In fact, I've slowed down too much already. Maybe I need to go over there and camp with Bobert for a while.

It cost an extra $30 a month just to add texting to our plan. I don't think I want it that much. Sheesh. (there's limited texting options too but you pay per phone for those and it works out the same...gads)

Good grief!!! I think mine costs $12 a month for unlimited texting. What carrier do you have?

Verizon. But I'm beginning to wonder about it. Our plan is up on the 20th of Dec. We may switch.

I don't know about Permie, but I get unlimited texting and Internet (email, web and telnet), but I don't remember how much extra that costs me. It was a package deal I signed up for when I bought my first Sidekick a few years ago. That phone died last year so I upgraded to the newer Sidekick and kept my current plan. $65 gets me that unlimited Internet and texting, unlimited night and weekend minutes and 600 daytime minutes.

I rarely use the phone as a phone, so they get their money's worth from me on the phone part of the plan. But, I more than make up for it with all my texting and Internet activity...

(I'm with T-Mobile. They're the only provider that offers/supports the Sidekick.)
