Verizon has the best plans around here...US Cellular has a little better coverage in some of the back areas...but for the most part Verizon is tough to beat....adding text is 20 bucks a month for the family plan.

awesome game (i've got it on the 360 and have played it through 5 times so far and still not fed up with it) but on the Wee you use the wimote as your lightsaber and the nunchuck to do the force powers

KODY!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROFL! Ok, NOT COOL..... I'm at the coffee shop, waiting for my car to be done, using one of the public computers here to catch up.
When I read that, I laughed LOUD (kind of a guffaw-type sound) and I spit coffee, literally.

I'm kind of embarrassed.

I found out why I wasn't satisfied with the results I was getting with the 100-400 on the 40D... Turned out when I was carrying it on the Black Rapid strap the IS on-off switch was rubbing against my leg and getting turned off accidentally. :o :o After I taped it over with some gaffer's tape it worked much better. I had to beg a piece of tape off the photographer for the local paper.

Note to self: "Self, make sure you keep gaffer's tape in your camera bag..."

Not a thing. I was having it detailed. 3 or 4 trips to the river with the dogs, and it's kinda gross.

evening folks, almost too tired to type. I was on my feet all day, but wanted to say that I LOVE my rapid strap!!! I had my regular neck strap on and my camera started feeling to heavy, so I changed over and it was really great to just let it go when I had too and to take the weight off my neck.

I really like the R-strap. Even with a relatively heavy set up, I can go all day.

Skrim17 wrote in post #6443318 (external link)
Oh and lovely color changing leaves Dan.

Thanks.

Skrim17 wrote in post #6443309 (external link)
I also decided I want the 24-105L as my 17-55 wasn't long enough and my 70-200 was too long!! I've had this issue before and thought about it but now I really want one!!

If only the 24-105 was f/2.8... and if only the 24-70 had IS....

chemicalbro wrote in post #6443397 (external link)
just looked at the R-strap.... very interesting.
I may invest in one as my neck was killing me today whilst shooting those models
(the 5D 100-400 combo weighs a bloody ton)
so much so that i ended up changing it to the 100 macro simply because of the weight.
(but then I had to get dangerously close to blades spinning at 2000RPM )

I don't want to sound like some sort of R-Strap fanboy, but it's very easy to use and great for those days when you do a lot of shooting.

I couldn't imagine going up Walter's Wiggles. My knees hurt just looking at that shot.

Same here!

Tevin saved up for months to get the Indiana Jones one, and when he finally had enough, he changed his mind and got the BatMan one.

Whoa... wait... there's a Batman one?

There are a couple parts of the hike where it is only a one way, along the side of the cliff, and you have to hold on to a chain that is anchored to the side of the mountain.

No way.

cfpackerfan wrote in post #6446881 (external link)
Mark, go to the hikes link again: http://www.utah.com …ks/zion/hiking_trails.htm (external link)
Click on "Angel's Landing" and when the page comes up, click on "Photo Tour" at the top. Check out some of those spots there. (Oh and the photos show it as a busy trail... there are only a few times when it's like that. Holiday weekends, and photo tours.)

No FREAKIN' way.

CrazieCricket wrote in post #6446889 (external link)
They do have signs up about not petting the deer or feeding them. But people never listen. either that or can't read. I was shocked they were letting their kids so close to them. Those bucks may seem friendly but you never know about wild animals. I got about 6 ft away to take a couple of the pics and even that made me nervous. Those guys aren't scared at all, you can walk right up to them and grab their antlers if you want. I didn't want

Something about large wild animals armed with very large and sharp antlers on of their skulls is just enough for me to not really get too friendly with them.

I am alive just laying low I guess, thanks for asking. Nice shots everyone. Dan I loved the fall leaf rant. D the Africa shots are always nice.

Glad you're OK, Zane. Nice to see you again.

Deer playing. Sorry for the vomit cam I was riding a horse at the time.

Cool. Blaire Deer Project.

cfpackerfan wrote in post #6447475 (external link)
How do I respond to that?

With unabated mockery.

cfpackerfan wrote in post #6447570 (external link)
Thanks for all the info. :D I really am clueless when it comes to P&S cameras, lol! I hate it when friends ask for advice on them... I just have to do a bunch of research.

I hate it when someone hands me a P/S to take a picture of them. They automatically assume that, because I have a DSLR, I know all things about cameras.

Which is soooo not true.

Many times I've held the camera up to my face trying to use a viewfinder that wasn't there, or offered no exposure info. :o
