It was cold cold cold today. Like... I had to wear a jacket.

I can't believe how cold it is this morning. I ended up putting long pants and socks on instead of my usual shorts because it's chilly in here...

I took a class when I first moved here 7 years ago...it was the best 8 week investment I ever made (2 hours once a week). Once you learn the basics of laying a mat out for cutting and the correct ratios....it is a piece of cake. I can do a custom metal frame and mat an image for less than you can buy a stock plastic frame at Michael's.

This is what I've been saying. My ex and I taught ourselves. This was the cutter we used.

Wooden frames are a bit more complex...but you can do them yourself if you have some basic woodworking skills. You can also buy finished wood frames and just do the glazing and back finish yourself.

Just for some noise, I turned on the Chicago-Atlanta game. The Falcon's prime runnig back is Michael Turner, who is the leading rusher in the NFL. Guess who he played for last year? The San Diego Chargers (who let him go in free-agency)... Dumb Move.

I can't believe how cold it is this morning.

I'm lovin' it! It actually dipped below freezing here over night. I don't think it did that last year until late November! Unfortunately, the Santa Ana winds got a big ol' fire going out of control on the other side of the mountains from me, in Little Tujunga Canyon. Looked pretty bad (and smelled bad, too) as I drove through the smoke on my way home from work this morning.

Of course... It makes me wonder what my chances are going to be like to get to Bryce Canyon in a few weeks...

The boys and I took several hours and went for a jaunt up the Blue Ridge Parkway. We went from Asheville to Mt. Pisgah and back.... I'm hoping that I didn't screw up my pictures too bad... They're downloading now. We saw lots of fall color up there! I even funny enough drove past some of my best friends! They didn't recognize me and it was TOOOOOO crowded for me to bow it up and stop.... And there was NO chance to call them as there is no cell signal up there! hehehehehe

We had a pretty good time, the boys just push my buttons these days with the incessant sounds that they find it necessary to make... not talking...just NOISE.... I wanted to enjoy the wind (it was STRONG) whistling through my ears! *shrug*

Holy crap! What a finish to the Atlanta/Chicago game!! Now thas football!
