Her reasoning:

You will have milk, cheese, yogurt, meat and wool, what else could you want? I would say what about love? and she told me "you learn to love your husband" Of course in her day all marriages were arranged so I guess this was true for her.

"The first day I saw you, was on our wedding day..
I was scared.."

"I was shy..."

"I was nervous..."

"so was I."

"But my father and my mother
said we'd learn to love each other...
and I'm asking you, Golda,

Do you love me? "

"Do I love you?
For twenty-five years I've washed your clothes.
Cooked your meals, cleaned your house.
Given you children, milked the cow.
After twenty-five years, why talk about love right now?"

Name that movie.
And yes. I typed that up from memory, and I am singing it in my head right now.

She never knew about Billy, we began our relationship about a year after she passed. I like to think she would have liked him once she got to know him. Our living so far away was upsetting to her, she ultimately just wanted all of us to be happy I think.

Yes we are.

I never knew my dad's family very well... aside from random short visits, we never saw them.
My dad was from Baltimore, and married my mom when he was stationed in Vegas in the airforce. They lived in Vegas, then podunk Nevada after that.

We went back east to visit Dad's family once. I was about 6 or 7 I think. I remember teeny little snippets of the visit, but nothing that memories are made of.

I have met my aunt and uncles a few times. I met a first cousin for the first time a few years ago.

I lost my grandparent's at a very young age

Both of my dad's parents died before I was ten years old. I don't remember them at all. My mom's dad died from cancer about a decade ago. My mom's mom is still around but she has cancer also and is not doing very well now.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Its interesting as my dad has one brother and he has two kids, a son my age and a daughter about 6 years younger. We are all very close even tho we grew up literally worlds apart. We have always been close, particularly me and my cousin Yanni who now lives in Houston with his wife and three kids. He is very much like a brother to me.
