Another thought on funks (sorry, it is back on my mind). I get in to them in other areas too, work, guitar, play, all sorts of things. For me at least, it seems to often come down to the lack of time to do all these things you wish you could do. What one needs to do is to see if you are performing well, and attaining goals in other areas. I know there is know way in this world I could possibly do all the things I would like to do. I just have to pick and choose, and photography is not always at the top of the list. The one good thing with photography though, is that it can fit into most other aspects of our lives. One of my biggest funks right now is guitar, I hardly play any more, and this seems to have coincided with the increased level of my photography hobby. I just can't seem to do everythign. ;)

You know, Jim, that's really very insightful. Falls under that "There's only so many hours in the day" category. This very well could be a major factor into my "Photo Phunk". I realized the other day that I spend anywhere from 15-20 hours a week drawing something. I've always drawn something, so I never really thought much about it, but between LOTRR, Photoons and weekend specials, I guess I don't have as much time, or energy, as I thought to devote to photography. It's interesting how the second tier priorities get shuffled about in life.

Very true, kinda like being a jack of all trades, but a master at very few. As long as we are achieving something with our time, that is fine.

all went well with the B&G today. We seemed to really mesh. I didn't know at the time that I'd be having backup (YAYAYAYAYAAY!!) so we talked over tons of details and this is going to be the least restricted (time wise as well as actual restrictions) wedding I've had to do. I'm very happy about that.

Just giving an update. No sign of little's little yet...lots of braxton hicks but no real stuff yet.

Sfather is doing well again, actually was coherent today...so lots of good news!

TTYL :)

Sounds great on all accounts Lisa. :D
You got some good bull backup, and a nice couple to shoot. Cheering on for Little's little. Did you get any preggy shots, I just love the glow an expecting mother radiates. (well, except when in pain). And good to here on your step dad, hope he continues to heal. :D

I was thinking about what Dan said yesterday and I think that I'm struggling with the same thing. But for me it's because I've lost the joy of shooting because I'm stressing so much. I'd like to go back to just wandering and shooting for fun like we used to do. Because even now when we go shoot something with a group or whatever, I feel pressured to shoot something amazing and if I don't I'm disappointed. But when we were just out walking the other day and taking photos of textures and playing with the camera (so he could learn the M3) I enjoyed myself more than I had in ages. There was no "excellent" photo but I didn't care. So what I think is missing is the joy. We used the share the experiences and the photos were secondary reminders, I miss that....anyway that's just my two cents.

I've been a bit of a slump lately myself. When we went out with our group for the shoot Saturday evening, I took just the camera, flash and one lens. I didn't take the tripod even though it was going to be a night shoot. I took a total of 24 shots, only eight of which I processed and put on my site.

You know I use to make dog clothes for Miss Mini and everyone wanted me to make them and sell them I said no even tho I had some great offers for store space ect ..The truth was I didnt want to commit to doing it because I enjoyed being creative and was thinking it would become a job and at the time i didn't want that .

This is pretty much the reason I quit shooting weddings. It was taking away from the enjoyment of phtography and turning into hard work.

News of a different sort:

Because of our recent car troubles, it was looking like I wasn't going to be able to go up to help shoot that wedding with Lisa up in Washington. Recent events, however, have changed that outlook. It looks like Chris (TD) will take me up there, will help us shoot the wedding, partly because he wants the experience before he has to shoot his first wedding in October and partly because he's a very nice guy. In exchange for this gesture, I'm going to be his second shooter for that October Wedding.

Not too sure if that's a blessing for him, or a curse.

That's great, Dan.

My uncle makes beautiful and rather large birdhouses in his free time. He has two or three dozen of them in his shed that he's completed. They're really incredible to look at. I once suggested he should market them and sell online. He said basically the same thing as you. He could never do that because then it would become a job and he enjoys it too much to turn it into a job. Too bad. They're really very good, and he could make very good money at it!

 On both, I was expecting Kitteh to tear something up or cause some sort of mayhem.....oh well, next time.

I was looking at those videos again this morning and realized something. Together they total a minute and ten seconds. And, not once does she utter a single sound. Not a single purr or meow, let alone a RAWR... That's so uncharacteristic of her! She's never gone that long in her life without making a noise of some kind, before!

3Turner wrote in post #6319724 (external link)
I did notice though that there were already 20+ views on both of the videos. Either some are lurking here and clicking the links or there are some bored YouTube people clicking on all the cute kitty videos.

I noticed that, too...

That is the reason I don't like going to concerts...surprised the wife one year which turned out to be a bad experience for me and I hated it....not to mention the freakin' long a$$ line just to get in.

That's how I felt the first time I saw the Grateful Dead. That was one experience I definitely wouldn't want to live through again. I hated it! There wasn't a single good thing to say about that entire evening. Then, a year later, against my better judgment, I let my brother talk me into going again... Almost exactly one year later we were there again. This time it was one of the best experiences of my life! I'd *love* to find a time machine to go back and see that concert again! Everything about that evening was just perfect. I couldn't wait until the next year to see what happened. Unfortunately, Jerry Garcia died a few months later and there never was a next time...

I lost my quotes from earlier but I may remember some.
Lovely shots of lakes and skies.

Harm I like my smugmug though setting it up is not difficult it is counter intuitive to how my brain works. When I figure it out it is really easy.

I saw one Cirque De Sole(sp?). Very talented people doing amazing things in incredibly unique and well done costumes. That said, that was freakier than any bad hallucinogenic trip I may have ever encountered in all my very odd years:shock: I had no idea whatsoever was going on. Disturbing people in realistic costumes of completely unrealistic stuff bouncing around in ways not humanly possible to freaky music played on bizarre instruments by more freaks. I am getting cold shivers just thinking about it. Oh and if you are homophobic you really wanna skip this one.

JON welcome back from where ever you are hiding. I hope it is fun and we get pictures.

That's all I remember the Cirque thing has me atwitter.

Love those bird houses, too. Lots of time devoted to that hobby.

TERRI: This is a "still" from an upcoming LOTRR strip, but I like how it turned out...
