It's big and heavy but not as bad as I'd heard but then I'm 6'4" with big hands! I can't get over the size of the front element though. It's enormous!

Test shots to come later.

First L??? Where have you been? Under a rock?

Looks great, that thing definitely dwarfs the body though lol.

I have a small budget, controlled by Mrs G! :D

My new dilemma now is how to fit it all in my bag

Wow didn't know gripped X0D's can support the 2.8 70-200, cool :D. Does it lean forward without it though when placed on a flat surface?

It doesn't. There must be something propping it up. The lens is like 3 times the weight of my gripped 40D

Ah, it doesn't quite. The tripod foot is sitting on a body/rear lens cap stack which is hidden by the neck strap.

Just uploading some test shots and I'll post them shortly. And don't worry, I found a duck! :D

Right, here are some of the photos I got with my new Lens...

First, the obligatory duck!

And finally, I managed to get in a spot of cricket viewing. Not quite as long as my old sporting lens (sigma 70-300 APO) but out performs it in every way. Cracking! This has been cropped a bit:

Nice images. I got the 70-200 F4L IS copy just yesterday. I made my first post and posted some test shots and I am really pleased with the quality and performance of the lens. Good shooting!
