It's an interesting shot but I have to ask...why would you do that? Problems with the Mrs?

No, no problems! just a "concept shot" I wanted to see if I could do it. And no, its not really dissolving just to put anyone's mind at ease.
Pulling it off even like that was a challenge. I used Yellow food coloring in the water. After filling the Glass with Water I used a small medicine syringe to very carefully put yellow food coloring in the bottom and pulled it back carefully while backfilling the syringe to keep spreading of the food coloring to a minimum. I then tweaked the color balance and saturation to reduce the Reddish appearance of the concentrated coloring at the bottom.

Ok...-that- makes sense! My most sincere apologies for my misinterpretation here! LOL!!! I really thought that was a glass of muratic acid or something and that you really were dissolving the ring...which obviously was the effect you were after without actually doing it!

Again very interesting shot and all things considered there, well done! Certainly had me fooled!

Peace,
Jim

I think it would make a better picture with a different perspective and placement in the frame. Why not try positioning it a bit more off center and see if you don't like that better?
