I wanted to know what is the best way to learn how to use your flash? I just got the 580 exII and I would like to know how to use it properly. Is there a good way to do that other than the manual? I have NEVER used an external flash before just the onboard. So I don't want to go out and try to shoot something and not know what I am doing. Thanks so much.

I would say go out and try a few things. If you get it wrong that almost as good as getting it right as you are still learning. After post a few of your photos on here and ask for peoples opinion on how to make better. I have done that a couple of times and even though I knew that it wasn't right I learned from the people here on how to make it better. Better to go out and shoot then to set around wondering what to do.
